US structural pipe and tube imports down 14.2 percent in November

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of structural pipe and tube totaled 26,970 mt in November 2019, down 14.2 percent from October but up 7.4 percent from November 2018 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube imports totaled $28.1 million in November 2019, compared to $38.3 million in the previous month and $30.5 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most structural pipe and tube from Canada in November, with 18,964 mt, compared to 24,602 mt in October and 13,065 mt in November 2018. Other top sources of imported structural pipe and tube in November include Mexico, with 3,744 mt; and Korea, with 1,671 mt.
