US structural pipe and tube exports up 2.5 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of structural pipe and tube totaled 8,628 mt in April 2019, up 2.5 percent from March but down 44.6 percent from April 2018 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube exports totaled $14.3 million in April, compared to $14.2 million in the previous month and $21.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most structural pipe and tube to Mexico in April with 4,640 mt, compared to 4,348 mt in March and 3,540 mt in April 2018. Other destinations include Canada, with 3,351 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US structural pipe and tube exports in April.
