US structural pipe and tube exports rise 14.8 percent in August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of structural pipe and tube totaled 16,148 mt in August, up 14.8 percent from July and up 15.1 percent from August 2016 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube exports totaled $21.2 million in August, compared to $17.9 million in the previous month and $16.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most structural pipe and tube to Canada in August with 12,338 mt, compared to 10,296 mt in July and 9,678 mt in August 2016. Other destinations include Mexico, with 2,743 mt. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) of US export structural pipe and tube in August.
