US structural pipe and tube exports drop 10.6 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of structural pipe and tube totaled 14,434 mt in September, down 10.6 percent from August but up 14.6 percent from September 2016 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube exports totaled $18.7 million in September, compared to $21.2 million in the previous month and $17.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most structural pipe and tube to Canada in September with 10,128 mt, compared to 12,338 mt in August and 7,978 mt in September 2016. Other destinations included Mexico, with 3,197 mt. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) for US export structural pipe and tube in September.
