On Wednesday, a group of US oil country tubular goods (OCTG) producers filed antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) petitions with the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and US International Trade Commission (ITC) against OCTG imports from China.
The petitions were submitted on behalf of Maverick Tube Corporation, United States Steel Corporation, TMK IPSCO, V&M Star L.P., Wheatland Tube Corp. and Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel, as well as The United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union, AFL-CIO-CLC.
The DOC is scheduled to determine the adequacy of the petitions by the end of April, followed by the preliminary injury determinations by the ITC by the end of May.
