US Steel names Marc F. Stoken general manager of raw materials

United States Steel Corporation (US Steel) announced on April 19 that Marc F. Stoken was named general manager of raw materials effective April 1. Stoken reports to vice president of procurement, raw materials and real estate Michael J. Hatcher. 
 
Stoken, 55, is responsible for overseeing all raw materials purchasing activities for US Steel's North American operations. Stoken joined US Steel in 1976 as a management trainee and during the next 19 years he advanced through increasingly responsible positions in coke, iron and steel operations as well as facility restructuring at Fairless Works. 
 
His most recent post was manager at strategic materials, in 2004.  Stoken will continue to be based at US Steel's corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh .
