US Steel looks across pond for expansion

US Steel, the third largest US steel maker, has turned its attention from North America and is now looking to expand into Europe, according to recent market news. Company officials say that the North American market is saturated and therefore presents few opportunities. The officials suggested that the company would consider expanding its presence in Europe since the continent seems to be full of opportunities. US Steel is especially keen on acquiring raw material suppliers in Russia and the CIS due to the high raw material prices in the global market.
