US standard rail exports down 9.3 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of standard rail totaled 6,049 mt in June 2019, down 9.3 percent from May but up 17.5 percent from June 2018 levels. By value, standard rail exports totaled $6.3 million in June, compared to $7.6 million in the previous month and $5.8 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most standard rail to Mexico in June with 5,716 mt, compared to 4,689 mt in May and 3,945 mt in June 2018. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US standard rail exports in June.
