US standard pipe imports up 58.4 percent in January

According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 63,770 mt in January 2019, up 58.4 percent from December. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $66.6 million in January 2019, compared to $49.9 million in the previous month.

The US imported the most standard pipe from United Arab Emirates in January, with 10,432 mt, compared to 5,061 mt in December. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in January include Canada, with 10,289 mt; Turkey, with 8,869 mt; Korea, with 8,514 mt; Oman, with 5,023 mt; and Vietnam, with 3,036 mt.
