According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 61,202 mt in July 2019, up 20.9 percent from June but down 9.9 percent from July 2018 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $62.4 million in July 2019, compared to $52.9 million in the previous month and $65.6 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most standard pipe from Canada in July, with 11,631 mt, compared to 12,265 mt in June and 12,383 mt in July 2018. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in July include Vietnam, with 7,724 mt; Korea, with 7,352 mt; Mexico, with 6,452 mt; and Oman, with 5,319 mt.
