According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 49,362 mt in March 2020, up 12.9 percent from February but down 2.1 percent from March 2019 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $48.1 million in March 2020, compared to $43.5 million in the previous month and $48.9 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most standard pipe from Canada in March, with 14,501 mt, compared to 13,812 mt in February and 10,991 mt in March 2019. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in March include Korea, with 8,003 mt; Mexico, with 6,406 mt; United Arab Emirates, with 6,289 mt; and Vietnam, with 4,051 mt.
