Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending November 9, the US rig count increased by six to 1,806, following a 26-rig decline a week ago and a 13-rig drop the week prior. Year-on-year, however, the US rig count is still down 2010 rigs. Rigs drilling for oil increased by 16 to 1,389, but gas-directed drilling rigs fell by 11 to 413.
After two consecutive weeks of rig count increases, Canada's rig count fell by 13 in the past week. The rig count is down 130 on a year-on-year basis.
