US rig counts hold steady while Canadian rig counts increase

According to the latest report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending January 27, the Canadian rig count increased by 28 to 682 rigs and was up 45 year-on-year.

The US rig count held steady during the week ending January 27, at 2,008 rigs and remained up 276 year-on-year. Oil rigs increased last week by 2 to 1,225 and were up 416 rigs from the same week a year ago, while gas rigs decreased by 3 to 777, and were down 136 rigs year-on-year.
