Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 27, the US rotary rig count increased by two to 1,048 rigs following an eight-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 186 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by three to 861. The overall rig count is now up by 90 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 12 to 223 rigs in the week ending July 27, following a 14-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by three rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
