US rig count stays stable while Canadian count rises week-on-week

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending December 3, the US rotary rig count remained level at 569 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas remained stable at 102, while the number of rigs drilling for oil remained at 467. The overall rig count is now up by 246 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by nine to 180 rigs in the week ending December 3. The Canadian rig count is now up by 78 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
