Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 18, the US rotary rig count remained level at 663 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 137, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by three to 524. The overall rig count is now up by 252 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 30 to 176 rigs in the week ending March 18. The Canadian rig count is now up by 84 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
