Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 5, the US rotary rig count increased by 19 to 1,025 rigs following a 10-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by four to 194, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 15 to 831. The overall rig count is now up by 22 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count dropped by 20 to 68 rigs in the week ending April 5, following a 17-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 43 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
