Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending May 25, the US rotary rig count increased by 13 to 1,059 rigs following a one-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 198 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 15 to 859. The overall rig count is now up by 151 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by two to 81 rigs in the week ending May 25, following a four-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 12 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
