Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 7, the US rotary rig count stayed level at 1,048 rigs following a four-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 186 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by two to 860. The overall rig count is now up by 104 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 24 to 204 rigs in the week ending September 7, following a one-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by two rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
