Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 28, the US rotary rig count remained level at 967 rigs following a two-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by four to 173, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by four to 793. The overall rig count is now down by 80 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by five to 124 rigs in the week ending June 28, following a 12-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 48 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
