Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 26, the US rotary rig count decreased by 21 to 991 rigs following a 10-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 186, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by 20 to 805. The overall rig count is now down by 30 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count declined by three to 63 rigs in the week ending April 26, following no change the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 22 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
