US rig count increases as Canadian count declines again

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending November 9, the US rotary rig count increased by 14 to 1,081 rigs following a one-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 195 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by 12 to 886. The overall rig count is now up by 174 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by two to 196 rigs in the week ending November 9, following a two-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by seven rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
