Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 6, the US rotary rig count increased by three to 793 rigs following a one-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 109, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by four to 682. The overall rig count is now down by 234 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 37 to 203 rigs in the week ending March 6, following a four-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 14 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
