Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 28, the US rotary rig count increased by one to 1,054 rigs following a two-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by three to 189 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by three to 863. The overall rig count is now up by 114 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 19 to 178 rigs in the week ending September 28, following a 29-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 35 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
