Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 30, the US rotary rig count increased by two to 440 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 96, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 342. The overall rig count is now up by 32 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by four to 51 rigs in the week ending April 30. The Canadian rig count is now up by 24 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
