Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 7, the US rotary rig count decreased by nine to 975 rigs following a one-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 186, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by 11 to 789. The overall rig count is now down by 87 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 18 to 103 rigs in the week ending June 7, following a seven-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by nine rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
