Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 21 the US rotary rig count decreased by two to 950 rigs following a neutral trend the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 186 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 764. The overall rig count is now up by 488 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 15 to 206 rigs in the week ending July 21, following a 16-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 104 rigs from the same week a year ago.
