Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 20, the US rotary rig count decreased by eight to 1,046 rigs following a two-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 187 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by five to 858. The overall rig count is now up by 96 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 14 to 211 rigs in the week ending July 20, following a 15-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by five rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
