Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 12, the US rotary rig count decreased by three to 1,022 rigs following a 19-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by five to 189, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by two to 833. The overall rig count is now up by 14 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count dropped by two to 66 rigs in the week ending April 12, following a 20-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 36 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
