Baker Hughes has reported that for the shortened holiday week ending April 18, the US rotary rig count decreased by 10 to 1,012 rigs following a three-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 187, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by eight to 825. The overall rig count is now down by one rig in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count stayed level at 66 rigs in the week ending April 18, following a two-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 27 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
