Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 13 the US rotary rig count decreased by eight to 928 rigs following a four-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 185 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by five to 743. The overall rig count is now up by 389 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by three to 212 rigs in the week ending October 13, following a four-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 47 rigs from the same week a year ago.
