Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 22, the US rotary rig count decreased by seven to 1,052 rigs following a three-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by six to 188 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 862. The overall rig count is now up by 111 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 21 to 160 rigs in the week ending June 22, following a 27-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 10 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
