Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 6, the US rotary rig count decreased by six to 898 rigs following a 12-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 160, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by four to 738. The overall rig count is now down by 150 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by three to 147 rigs in the week ending September 6, following an 11-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 57 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
