Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 29, the US rotary rig count decreased by five to 1,047 rigs following a seven-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 187 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by four to 858. The overall rig count is now up by 107 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 12 to 172 rigs in the week ending June 29, following a 21-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 17 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
