US rebar exports down 42.4 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 12,961 mt in April 2020, down 26.7 percent from March but up 49.8 percent from April 2019 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $8.2 million in April, compared to $10.8 million in the previous month and $6.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in April with 11,900 mt, compared to 15,801 mt in March and 4,468 mt in April 2019. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in April.
