US rebar exports down 10.4 percent in February

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 9,527 mt in February 2019, down 10.4 percent from January and down 69.9 percent from February 2018 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $7.0 million in February, compared to $7.9 million in the previous month and $21.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in February with 4,941 mt, compared to 8,075 mt in January and 26,233 mt in February 2018. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 2,927 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export rebar in February.
