US plates in coil exports up 23.6 percent in November

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 28,630 mt in November 2018, up 23.6 percent from October but down 28.9 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $24.6 million in November, compared to $20.9 million in the previous month and $29.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in November with 24,065 mt, compared to 17,557 mt in October and 24,937 mt in November 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 3,722 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export plates in coil in November.
