According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 35,198 mt in February 2018, up 8.6 percent from January but down 38.9 percent from February 2017 levels. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $28.4 million in February, compared to $25.6 million in the previous month and $35.4 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in February with 21,758 mt, compared to 17,913 mt in January and 40,880 mt in February 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 11,904 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US plates in coil exports in February.
