According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 41,454 mt in September, up 5.8 percent from August and up 4.4 percent from September 2016 levels. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $32.9 million in September, compared to $28.9 million in the previous month and $26.3million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in September with 25,513 mt, compared to 20,611 mt in August and 27,805 mt in September 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 14,978 mt. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) for US export plates in coil in September.
