US plates in coil exports rise 21.1 percent in June

US exports of plates in coil totaled 59,347 mt in June, up 21.1 percent from May and up 80.2 percent from June 2016 levels. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $38.9 million in June, compared to $37.9 million in the previous month and $22.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in June with 42,589 mt, compared to 25,680 mt in May and 18,731 mt in June 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 15,575 mt. There were no other major destinations (over 1,000 mt) for US plates in coil exports in June.
