US OCTG imports up 4.2 percent in October

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of OCTG totaled 156,924 mt in October 2018, up 4.2 percent from September but down 48.5 percent from October 2017 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $176.2 million in October 2018, compared to $172.1 million in the previous month and $308.6 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most OCTG from Russia in October, with 28,893 mt, compared to 24,121 mt in September and 9,244 mt in October 2017. Other top sources of imported OCTG in October include Mexico, with 22,361 mt; Philippines, with 16,044 mt; Thailand, with 14,607 mt; Austria, with 13,115 mt; and Ukraine, with 11,510 mt.
