US OCTG imports up 3.9 percent in April

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 226,922 mt in April 2019, up 3.9 percent from March but down 24.3 percent from April 2018 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $233.3 million in April 2019, compared to $233.9 million in the previous month and $329.9 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most OCTG from Korea in April, with 54,186 mt, compared to 41,631 mt in March and 97,847 mt in April 2018. Other top sources of imported OCTG in April include Russia, with 38,287 mt; Mexico, with 18,279 mt; Brazil, with 17,057 mt; and Saudi Arabia, with 16,530 mt.
