According to preliminary census data from the
US Department of Commerce,
US imports of oil country
tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 237,354 mt in March 2017, up 30.9 percent from February and up 361.9 percent from March 2016 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $215.0 million in March 2017, compared to $151.9 million in the previous month and $51.9 million in the same month last year.
The
US imported the most OCTG from Korea in March, with 87,489 mt, compared to 83,462 mt in February and 20,926 mt in March 2016. Other top sources of imported OCTG in March include Mexico, with 42,548 mt; Austria, with 24,127 mt; Argentina, with 20,312 mt; Canada, with 16,798 mt; and Taiwan, with 7,568 mt.
