US OCTG exports up 8.7 percent in January

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 15,156 mt in January 2020, up 8.7 percent from December but down 9.8 percent from January 2019 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $30.3 million in January, compared to $32.1 million in the previous month and $33.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in January with 9,589 mt, compared to 7,222 mt in December and 9,721 mt in January 2019. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US OCTG exports in January.
