According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 19,042 mt in May 2019, up 32.3 percent from April but down 28.6 percent from May 2018 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $42.9 million in May, compared to $26.7 million in the previous month and $50.2 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in May with 9,608 mt, compared to 9,556 mt in April and 17,293 mt in May 2018. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 1,917 mt. There were no other major destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export OCTG in May.
