US OCTG exports up 10.8 percent in January

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 16,810 mt in January 2019, up 10.8 percent from December but down 39.4 percent from January 2018 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $33.7 million in January, compared to $34.4 million in the previous month and $43.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada January with 9,721 mt, compared to 8,770 mt in December and 21,307 mt in January 2018. Other top destinations included Trinidad and Tobago, with 1,897 mt; Guyana, with 1,435 mt; and Spain, with 1,312 mt.
