US OCTG exports drop 8.3 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 24,715 mt in March 2018, down 8.3 percent from February and down 9.9 percent from March 2017 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $46.9 million in March, compared to $58.9 million in the previous month and $43.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in March with 17,356 mt, compared to 17,822 mt in February and 18,851 mt in March 2017. Other top destinations included Trinidad and Tobago, with 1,698 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US OCTG exports in March.
