US OCTG exports drop 6.3 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 24,215 mt in September, down 6.3 percent from August but up 14.5 percent from September 2016 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $48.2 million in September, compared to $54.3 million in the previous month and $36.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in September with 17,899 mt, compared to 18,538 mt in August and 11,443 mt in September 2016. Other destinations included Mexico, with 1,287 mt. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) for US export OCTG in September.
