US OCTG exports drop 18.4 percent in May

US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 31,830 mt in May, down 18.4 percent from April but up 131.6 percent from May 2016 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $80.8 million in May, compared to $99.2 million in the previous month and $47.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in May with 24,328 mt, compared to 26,821 mt in April and 7,367 mt in May 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 1,441 mt; and Guyana, with 1,299 mt. No other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) of US export OCTG were recorded in May.
