US mechanical tubing imports up 45.1 percent in January

According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 56,062 mt in January 2019, up 45.1 percent from December. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $79.8 million in January 2019, compared to $58.5 million in the previous month.

The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in January, with 12,129 mt, compared to 10,341 mt in December. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in January include Russia, with 7,357 mt; Canada, with 7,321 mt; Germany, with 4,571 mt; China, with 3,616 mt; and Vietnam, with 2,590 mt.
